Since legalizing hemp in 2012, Colorado has almost become synonymous with hemp and CBD. As more research is being done on the benefits of CBD, people are becoming increasingly interested in the alternative medicine that is cannabis.

Studies have shown that Cannabis oil has many benefits and can be used to treat illnesses such as pain, anxiety, PTSD, cancer related symptoms, and neurological disorders.

What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is usually a combination of CBD extract and a carrier oil like coconut oil. Additionally, flavoring is also sometimes added. It is important to note that not all CBD oils are the same. And not all CBD oils are safe.

What to look for in CBD oils

Finding a reputable CBD manufacturer is pertinent when starting your CBD journey. One of the most important things your manufacturer should be able to provide is a COA (Certificate of Analysis). This COA should include information on their CBD products like potency, cannabinoid profile, contaminants, and the date.

Potency – The potency of the CBD oil refers to its strength. The amount of CBD that is present in the product should match what is listed on the label. Some CBD oils may also have trace amounts of THC, and that too should be listed.

While the quantity may fluctuate across batches, there should be no significant differences in percentages. If you find that this is the case, it may be best to go with a different brand.

Cannabinoid profile – You may notice terms like “broad-spectrum” and “full-spectrum” on the label. Broad-spectrum CBD oils may contain a small amount of THC (less than 0.3%). However, full-spectrum will not contain THC, it may have other cannabinoids. CBD isolate products should only contain CBD.

Contaminants – The product should be tested for heavy metals, pesticides, mold, and other harmful contaminants. The full list of contaminants may vary.

Ways to include CBD in your life

CBD Oils

One of the most popular ways to use CBD is in the form of oils. CBD oils have grown increasingly popular among consumers, and this is mostly due to its versatility. The most common way to take CBD oil is by dropping 2-3 drops under the tongue and holding in there for 30 second before swallowing.

Depending on the carrier oil of the CBD oil, you may also be able to use it topically. People will typically begin to feel its effects within 1 to 2 hours.

CBD oil treats – desserts and smoothies

Another way people have found to use CBD oils is by making dessert treats and smoothies. You may produce some delectable CBD oil snacks by putting a few drops of CBD oil, usually flavored, into a mixture or batter.

This can make the consumption of CBD oil even more enjoyable, while still enjoying its effects.

The bottom-line is that the advantages of CBD cannot be overstated. If you are searching for natural, alternative treatments to solve some of the medical issues that you struggle with, try CBD oil!
