Making something for your dog to eat that is both healthy and can serve a medicinal purpose is such an exciting project. Before we start there are a few things that you will need to be aware of and account for first.
When you go to buy the CBD oil that this recipe suggests, the first thing that you should be aware of, is there are company’s popping up every day claiming they have the best CBD oil on the market. The truth is…… they may have no CBD in them at all. The company that you buy from should be able to provide you with a detailed analysis of their products. In today’s messed up world, there are all kinds of people that will take advantage of you.
In states where marijuana is legal for recreational purposes and online is where you will find most of these companies that are are showing up. The only CBD that I use is Colorado CBD products. Our company and these products have been carefully crafted from Industrial Hemp Oil that is organically in Colorado. I know where my hemp oil comes from and I know it been fully tested and approved. I would not sell anything that I didn’t treat myself with. I cannot give these recipes until you understand that, the quality of hemp you use to make anything is the most important part of this project. So choose wisely.
What is the benefit of making your own CBD dog treats?
CBD oil or cannabidiol has many medicinal qualities that both you and your pet can benefit from. Some of the benefits include but are not limited to anti-inflammation, by reducing inflammation we can address chronic pain in a natural, non-pharmaceutical way. It can provide some relief from the anxiety that our pets experience for various situations. These are just a couple of the benefits we have seen with our oils. There are many more. Since its actually good for your dog people have been experimentally treating all sorts of ailments.
After you have decided to try CBD for you or your dog.
Why not just buy treats that are already made? Well, that is a very good question. You could totally go buy CBD dog treats that are all ready for your pup to eat with the correct dosing. You can go here to order our dog biscuits, but maybe you would like to try CBD for yourself as well or you already have some and you believe your dog may benefit. I’m a total do it yourself and this way you can cut your costs and share your cannabidiol with your dog.
If you are a label reader like me then you already know the value of crafting your own delights for your pets. But if you are not a label reader then …well you should be. Anyway, the ingredient list will tell you what you need to know about anything that you want to feed your pup. If after examining the label and making the decision that you yourself would not eat it, then why would you feed it to man’s best friend or your best friend?
Most store-bought dog treats have fillers in them that really aren’t very good for them. They are exactly that, just fillers. Added to make your dog fuller and all the while skimping on the good nutritional stuff. Most store-bought dog foods and dog biscuits have fillers. Knowing exactly what is in the things you feed your dogs will give you peace of mind and a sense of control over your pets overall health and well being.
Today we are going to give you a couple of easy recipes that you can try at home. Recipes that will make you feel good about feeding them to your dog. The best part is witnessing the joy your dog experiences after all the love you put into preparing them these amazing delights. They know you made them because you love them, trust me they know.
So without further ado….
The first thing you need to do before you start is deciding on how much oil you are going to need. To make sure you are using enough CBD in your recipe.
We suggest that you infuse your oil into some type of fat before you cook or use it in a recipe. To do this, the process is fairly simple. Heat the oil/fat/butter and then gently stir in your hemp oil and store in a clean container in a cool dark place. Light or sunlight can degrade your cannabis oil so make sure you store it properly.
If you want to make 25mg dog treats then you will need to do a bit of math. If your recipe calls for 1 cup of peanut butter (or whatever oil you need for your recipe) and you use 250 mg of cannabidiol you will have 250 mg of CBD in your recipe, then divide that number into the number of servings you made and that is CBD per serving.
It’s important to remember that the boiling point for cannabis is 320°F to 356°F any higher that then you will start to evaporate your medicine. When cooking with CBD try to use the lowest temperature possible.

You don’t give an amount of CBD oil for this recipe. I must be missing something, thanks!
Hi Laura, If you read the rest of the article before the recipes it gives you the calculations for dosing your treats accurately. If you want to make 25mg dog treats then you will need to do a bit of math. If your recipe calls for 1 cup of peanut butter (or whatever oil you need for your recipe) and you use 250 mg of cannabinidoil you will have 250 mg of cbd in your recipe, then divide that number into the amount of servings you made and that is cbd per serving. I hope this helps. Kind regards
Humans can eat these too!
